James Durstein joined Woolsey Morcom in 2024 after a decade spent on the other side, working as a partner at an insurance defense firm. He handled the defense of personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, representing insurance companies, individuals, and corporations, and handling all aspects of litigation, including jury trials. James has tried numerous cases to
verdict as first chair.

His win-loss record in jury trials over the past several years is believed to be unmatched among attorneys defending personal injury cases in northeast Florida. Now, he focuses on representing individuals and families in personal injury and wrongful death
cases, using his valuable insight and experience to help people in their time of need. He believes in legal representation that is determined and compassionate.

James graduated from the University of South Carolina before attending law school at Florida Coastal School of Law, where he graduated in the top 1% of his class and was a board member of the law review. James lives in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife and kids.
