James Durstein joined Woolsey Morcom in 2024 after a decade spent on the “other side,” working at an insurance defense firm as a partner and trial attorney. He handled the defense of personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, representing insurance companies, individuals, and corporations, and handling all aspects of litigation, including jury trials.

James has tried numerous cases to verdict as first chair.  His win-loss record in jury trials over the past several years is believed to be unmatched among attorneys defending personal injury cases in northeast Florida.

Now, at Woolsey Morcom, James represents individuals and families in their time of need, using his valuable insight of how insurers defend and evaluate claims, along with his extensive litigation and trial experience.  He believes in legal representation that is determined and compassionate.

James graduated from the University of South Carolina before attending Florida Coastal School of Law, where he graduated in the top 1% of his class and was a board member of the law review. James lives in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife and kids.
